Redesigning a legend is no easy task. The pressure was on the Chevrolet designers to come up with a replacement for the immensely popular 1957 Chevrolet. The resulting 1958 design was very well received and continues to have a great following amongst the collectors of today. 1958 also came with a new name which would quickly become a legend in its own in the long list of names from Chevrolet, Impala. The highest end Chevrolet available for 1958, it could be had in 2 door sport coupe or 2 door convertible with a long list of available options and no less that 3 different versions of the 348 V8 engine available.

This incredible example of the 1958 Impala Convertible is finished in the ultra desirable Onyx Black paint with a black power convertible soft top and it is all perfectly complimented by the red with silver interior. Lift up the large hood and you will find a Super Turbo Thrust 348 Tri-Power engine, the grand daddy of the legendary 409. Backing that up is the Powerglide automatic transmission with power steering making this Impala a pleasure to cruise in. The true signs of a well executed restoration can be found in the details, excellent condition chrome and aluminum brightwork, a full set of T3 headlights, restored gauges, perfectly operational power convertible top, this Impala is as beautiful in appearance as it is in function. Due to the unique and intricate designs, extensive use of chrome and body shapes, these big cars of the 51's are an expensive project to restore.
