1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible Fuel Injected-Stunning Nut/Bolt Frame Off Restoration

LMC is proud to offer for sale this 1957 Chevrolet Fuel Injected Bel Air Convertible.

Some of the most iconic American cars of all time are affectionately known as either the 5/6/7 Chevy’s or the Tri-Five Chevrolets, beginning with the ’55 and ending with possibly the most well know 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. The ’57 Chevy had all the characteristics that made the cars of the era so desirable, V8 power, and 1950’s style full of chrome and naturally those pronounced tail fins! They were available in a full range of body styles. This was the final year of the “shoebox” Chevrolet and was available in three series models with the top of the class being the upscale Bel Air.

For 1957, Chevrolet produced one of the most cherished body styles of the postwar era. Changes for this model year included a new dashboard, the relocation of air ducts to the headlight pods which resulted in the distinctive chrome headlight, new fourteen-inch wheels with the Spinner Wheel Discs gave the car a lower stance and a wide grille/tall tailfins promoted a wider look. There were many options available, designed to make the car more comfortable and luxurious, such as air conditioning, padded dash, power steering, power brakes, signal-seeking AM radio/power antenna, power windows, power seats and the Autronic eye/dimming headlights however most of these were rarely ordered back in the day. The key feature of the Bel Air models was the magnificent gold trim of the grille, front fender chevrons, hood and trunk script were all rendered in anodized gold. V8-optioned cars got a large gold "V" under the Chevrolet script on both the hood and trunk lid. For 1957 engine options included a 235 inline-6, 265 V8 and several versions of the famous small block Chevy 283. 1957 was also the first year that Chevrolet offered fuel injection and so the 283 fuel injected engines were the ultimate opportunity for stuffing more horsepower under the hood. Back in the day these cars were advertised as being ‘Full of spunk…but beautifully behaved…the ’57 Chevy!’ and today they still have a reputation for good power and having a smooth ride.

This absolutely stunning 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible was built in Norwood Ohio and has benefited from a true no expense spared, frame off, nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. It has been restored to the ultimate level and is finished in Onyx Black with its paint wet sanded and polished to a absolute mirror finish.  The striking exterior is completed with a perfectly fitted power black convertible soft top. Fit and finish of the doors, hood and trunk are spectacular. The very desirable convertible body is laser straight that highlights the sand/polished show level paint enhanced by the Gold Chevy emblems. Lift up the distinctive ’57 hood to find the most desirable and collectible motor offered in this model year by Chevrolet, the famous Fuel Injected 283. Open the door and you are welcomed into a bright equally immaculately restored interior; finished in Red vinyl and Red Buttons within the Silver seating inserts. All the chrome and stainless around the car have a deep and rich reflection.   Great time and expense has been giving as these items have been refinished, re plated or polished to ultimate luster.  The absolute quality of this car doesn't end on the topside, but great attention has been paid to the undercarriage as well. It has been  beautifully finished and detailed to perfection. The body itself is finished in the proper red oxide primer, with chassis finished in semi gloss black.  Under close inspection one can see the car has not seen use since completion and in magnificent restored condition complete with factory paint dabs, stickers and chalk markings.  The conveniences include the AM Radio, Day/Night Mirror and the EZI Tinted Glass as noted on the cowl tag of this Bel Air. The previous owner has passed along the AACA Letter, Certificate, Trophy and Chevy Magazine with picture of the 992 Platinum First Place Winner at the Chevy Classics Winter National event in Florida. As well, one will notice mounted on the front grille a National First Prize/AACA badge as further testament to the ultimate level of quality.  There is no question this is the finest Tri Five Chevrolet we have ever seen or owned in over 30 years of business.  One must consider the time and great expense that goes into taking a car to a level such as this.  It is truly a unique and rare opportunity to purchase one of the finest and the most desirable of the 1957 Chevrolets ever produced.

This Onyx Black 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible truly has it all for the Chevy fanatic that wants to just get on the road to experience the ride delivered by the Fuel Injected 283 or for the most discerning collector searching for the absolute best restoration on a  classic ‘57 Bow Tie Chevy.
