1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

  The Cadillac Eldorado was first introduced for the 1952 model year, as a celebration of the Cadillac’s fiftieth anniversary. The name Eldorado was a contraction of El Dorado, the mythical lost city of gold in South America. The Cadillac Eldorado was completely redesigned for the 1957 model year, with a stance that was much lower than the previous year. The front end had a three-piece bumper and the tail now came with a down swept rear fender line, featuring polished stainless steel lower rear quarters that ran from just behind the rear wheel openings, wrapping around to meet the rear bumpers, a design cue first featured on the Cadillac Interceptor prototype. The top of the rear fenders sported pointed, in-board fins. Exhaust exited through the rear bumper. Cadillac Eldorado power came from a 365 cubic-inch V8 topped with dual four-barrel carbs, producing 325 horsepower, as compared to the 300-horsepower, single-carb V8s propelling the “lower” Caddy trims.

  This stunning highly collectible Eldorado Biarritz has been nicely restored in its factory original color of the ultra-rare code “49” Amethyst paint complemented by a trim code “11” Black leather interior. Under the hood, is the matching numbers 365ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors and the famous “batwing” air cleaner. The engine is painted in the correct Cadillac Blue and the compartment has been nicely detailed with correct finishes. All the chrome and stainless trim is in very nice condition. The interior has been completely redone from the dashboard to the gorgeous black leather seats. This luxurious Cadillac comes loaded with options which include: Power Windows, Power Top, Power Seat, Power Steering, And Radio. Finishing the look of this gorgeous Cadillac are a set of Saber wheels wrapped in wide whitewall tires.

  Documenting this exquisite example, is the factory paperwork obtained from the General Motors Heritage Center showing how this very rare example was factory delivered when new. There are not many other cars that have the presence like this '57 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible!
