The 1937 – 1940 Ford Deluxe cars were highly looked upon from a styling standpoint. Henry Ford, although reluctantly, had allowed them to advance in design with the introduction of hydraulic brakes to ensure the car could stop as well as the fantastic Flathead V8 would accelerate the car.

This generation of Ford's is one of the most popular automobiles for the Blue Oval Fan of the classic styling when left in the original production line look or the Hot Rodding enthusiasts that just love the Fat-Fendered Fords and certainly the early stock car racing drivers leaned to this generation of Ford's to get around the track. The key was the beautiful lines that makes these Fords one of the most enduring styles ever produced by an American automaker…the 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe and Convertibles have remained popular over the decades. Ford had really updated the line up with this model and most car nuts believe the ’40 was the last and best of the design. A high flat-topped hood dominated the front look of the 1940 model as the grille now spread out to reach the fenders and the headlights were pushed even wider. The grille had a blackout on each side of a heavy chrome center and heavier headlight surrounds serve as another major differentiator of the last model year. Sealed-beam headlights were one of the few major advances for 1940, while a hydraulic top was new on the convertible. 1940 still had the famous and beloved Flathead V8 to provide the thrill of acceleration.

This Ford Deluxe has been wonderfully restored and a previous AACA Senior National Show Winner. Beautiful in the very attractive optional Green exterior paint, completed nicely with Dark Brown interior and a Tan Convertible Soft Top. The paint has been polished to a terrific shine and all the chrome shows beautifully throughout. Open the hood and a tastefully detailed Flathead V8 engine appears that provides the acceleration these Fords were famous for. The car fires up quickly with a push of the starter button and is a pleasure to drive. The interior has the comfortable factory style  bench seating and finished nicely with the  two-tone brown dash. Inside the driver will appreciate some of the optional equipment; Dual Mirrors, Heater, Clock and AM Radio with the Rotating Aerial mounted in the middle of the front windshield. Open the the glove box and inside Owner’s Manual resides. The unmistakable exterior styling has several features to enhance the look such as the Front/Rear Bumper Guards, Grille Protector and Wings, the Ford Deluxe large Chrome Wheel Caps and Beauty Rings and the flowing Fender Shields/Skirts to complete Fords streamlined styling.
